The Birdsville Races are also part of the Simpson Desert Racing Carnival that incorporates events in Birdsville, Bedourie, and Betoota.  Come and enjoy a taste of the far west on your outback Queensland adventure.  The Birdsville races welcomes fly-in visitors, grey nomads, caravaners, 4WD travellers and backpackers alike.  Whether you're on a working holiday around Australia, a family adventure or enjoying your retirement, the Birdsville Races and Simpson Desert Racing Carnival has something special to offer.

The annual Birdsville Races is run by the local Birdsville Race Club together with its committee and legion of volunteers, and with the generous financial support from sponsors and visitors.
