The Simpson Desert Ultra is one of Australia’s toughest ultra-marathon events, set in the vast and awe-inspiring heart of the Australian Outback near Birdsville, south-west Queensland.

With race distances of 160km, 100km, 75km, 50km and 25km, the event caters for everyone from first-time ultra runners to seasoned endurance athletes seeking an extreme challenge. Courses traverse an extraordinary mix of terrain, including towering red sand dunes, rocky gibber plains and remote desert tracks, pushing participants to their physical and mental limits.
